Railroad Academy offers the
nation's only independent locomotive engineer re-certification program.
Available only to licensed locomotive engineers, The Modoc Railroad
Academy locomotive engineer program meets and exceeds all Federal
and State rules and regulations for re-certification. Engineers
receive training, testing and review on railroad safety, train handling,
air brakes, hazardous materials and more. The re-certification process
also take advantage of Modoc Railroad Academy's new locomotive simulators
and new locomotive for the most up to date training available anywhere.
Locomotive Engineer Re-certification of current
locomotive engineers is a five day program. The re-certification
program can take place either at the school facility or on the employee's
railroad. Re-Certified Engineers will receive a Class One, Train
Service License, valid for 2 years. Contact the school for details
and costs. Please check the currents class calendar for in house
training dates. Please note: New changes to Federal Law, CFR Title 49, Part 242, now require all locomotive engineers to be Certified Conductors. All engineers who need to re-cert, must also take a five day, condcutor program. Total time required will be two weeks. Re-certified locomotive engineers will then receive a certifed conductor card.......This program is effective 8-1-2010.
